Working for Leada Acrow

Join a fast-paced, friendly and empowering company.

At Leada Acrow, our people make our business, so whether you join us as an apprentice, sales engineer or service centre manager, you’ll perform a crucial role. We want to give everyone the opportunity to learn, develop and progress to be as successful as possible. We provide a wealth of learning opportunities to equip our colleagues with the skills and confidence to fulfil their potential.

I first started at Leada Acrow in 2002 with no previous experience in formwork and falsework, having come from a retail background. It was more the fact I would be doing AutoCAD design that first attracted me to the role, having done a part time course at night school.  The chance of doing design work within the construction industry seemed like a good match and was something that really interested me.

Over the 13 years I have worked here I have gained a lot of knowledge, through senior colleagues and various training courses, allowing me to progress from a junior to senior engineer.  The role has allowed me to work on various large projects and meet some interesting characters along the way.

We also recently had the chance to go to Germany, for a two day training course at MEVA, which was a great experience.

Gary Mills – Senior Acrow Engineer

I have worked in the formwork design sector for almost 15 years. Since joining Leada Acrow last year, I have been impressed with the camaraderie within the Glasgow Service Centre. I have found that if there is an issue needing to be resolved, the design, sales and operations teams work well together to find the most practical solutions.

Leada Acrow was awarded a significant part of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR), a construction joint venture to provide a bypass around the city of Aberdeen. The scope of work included Wall Shuttering, Soffit support, Parapet support and Heavy Duty Shoring. The interesting challenges this contract provided kept all of us “on our toes” whilst giving us the opportunity to think outside the box to deliver a safe and economic service to the client. That is one of the reasons why I really enjoy working at Leada Acrow. Hardly any two days are the same with each project bringing different challenges.

John Ferguson – Project Engineer

I came from a structural engineering background. When I took the opportunity to join Leada Acrow 20 years ago, it opened my eyes to a whole new area of construction. I learned the practicalities of temporary works, as well as the theory, and have been surrounded by some of the best in the business.

As a senior member of staff, I get to sink my teeth into the more interesting design work on a daily basis, including large bridge projects, supporting prestige buildings and everything in between. No two days are the same.

Leada Acrow is sponsoring me on a Bachelor of Engineering degree course, has paid for me to go to Germany to undertake a training course with a supplier, and put me through a residential formwork and falsework design course, as well as masses of in-house and on-the-job training.

At Leada Acrow, the only limit to your career progression is your own imagination.
