Customer Name

Concept Rail Ltd

Project Location

Thornton Heath, South London

The Challenge

The development involved the existing canopies being demolished with various groundworks needing to be completed to allow the installation of the new bridge, lift shafts, stairs and link platform. In addition, to ensure the station is DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) compliant, other works were involved, including tactiles to all platforms, drop kerbs to drop off zones and a new platform lining.

The Solution

We had worked with Concept Rail previously on similar excavation support projects and on this occasion we provided them with a full design service, approved by Network Rail, and equipment. We supplied the Trench Sheet which was complete with a frame brace, edge protection, ladder access and single sided EcoAs specifically designed by our Engineers with propping to take the required loading.

The Results

The whole design, delivery and process went very smoothly, to the complete satisfaction of all parties involved.

We are really happy with the service that Leada Acrow have provided with this groundworks job and on the previous projects we have worked on together. The solution that they came up with helped us with our timescales and also provided a cost saving. We look forward to working with Leada Acrow again when we secure our next station work.
