Battersea Power Station – Re-Development
Leada Acrow was proud to be involved in a project of this scale, which formed part of the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, and to be working in the shadow of the iconic chimneys excited us as a company.
Our element of works was part of a new luxury housing development overlooking the River Thames. Leada Acrow’s customer Bryne Brothers was awarded the concrete, formwork and reinforcement package from main contractor Carillion.
Due to tight time constraints and an exacting programme, MEVA and Leada Acrow were challenged to produce a formwork climbing scheme which would enable a five working day cycle. This brought many challenges as Leada Acrow had to utilise a number of different products to make the system fully operational.
Working very closely with our strategic partner MEVA and their design function in Haiterbach, Germany we partnered to produce a solution utilising our brand new MGC, MEVA guided climbing system and utilised the new Radius system, Mammut 350 panels and a purpose made internal Radius circular formwork system with shutter manufactured from the ALKUS forming sheet.
The system supplied proved very successful, it worked efficiently to the stringent programme and, due to the new “Radius” system's steel faced shutter and the internal Radius Alkus shutter, an exceptionally high finish was achieved. In fact, Lead Acrow has since gone on to secure another order for the same MGC system with Byrne Brothers on another contract in London.Download as PDF
