Leada Acrow’s charity fun nets £10k for Macmillan Cancer Support
Wet sponge throwing, bag packing and triathlons were just some of the fundraising antics by the team at Leada Acrow which have raised an impressive £10,000 for charity.
As the specialist division marked its 80th anniversary, everyone dug deep to organise a raft of fundraising activities to generate money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Not only were there raffles, cake baking, face painting, car washing, wear something green, dress down Fridays and a Christmas jumper day but there were also coffee mornings and lunches as well as a ‘brave the shave’ event.
The wet sponge throwing at the Directors was particularly successfully and there were some great performances in triathlons and 5km swims as well as the chance to win a five-day car driving experience.
Leada Acrow celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2016 and the fundraising was a key part of the birthday celebrations.
Leada Acrow’s Director, Barry Furlong thanked everyone for their tremendous efforts.
"Current and past employees are exceptionally proud of how the business has grown and evolved across the last eight decades. It’s an impressive record and I’m also very proud of the team’s efforts to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support during the last 18 months.
"Well done to everyone! May our hard work and commitment to supporting our clients, suppliers and the wider community continue for another 80 years."
Hannah Lumb, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, thanked the team at Leada Acrow.
"We rely on the selfless generosity, time and effort of communities across the UK to support our work and I would like to thank everyone at Leada Acrow for such fantastic fundraising.
"It is greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to people and their loved ones living with cancer."
